April 2013: Innovations, the Uranus-Pluto square and an eclipse
Many months ago when Uranus entered Aries I wrote this placement would bring some of the most important medical advances of our lifetimes. As the triple conjunction in Aries between the Sun, Venus and Uranus completes at the start of the month, there is news relating to progress in the cure for the most dreaded disease of the 21st century-cancer. This powerful conjunction sextiled Jupiter, the planet connected with healing. Jupiter is in Gemini, the sign ruled by Mercury the planet associated with medical discoveries.
News agencies report researchers are one step closer to uncovering a treatment that could be applicable across the board in killing every kind of cancer tumor, and will now move on to human trials, and it is an antibody treatment called CD47. This announcement come on the heels of information that AIDS may have been cured in adults and new steps in the diagnosis and treatment of fibromyalgia.
The first two weeks of April the Sun, Venus and Mars remain in the first sign of the zodiac and this dynamic combination of planets is indicative of new beginnings and innovative happenings. You may feel driven and inspired to move beyond your normal 'box' and now is the time to do so.
April 6 Mercury, the planet commonly associated with communication and travel reaches its pre-retrograde degree of 9 degrees Pisces, ending the shadow period of the retrograde Mercury of February and March. Now things move ahead full speed in the sign ruling religion and spirituality. Mercury will remain in Pisces until February 13, when it enters Aries.
Mercury in Pisces has brought religion and spirituality to the forefront as the TNT series, The Bible soared in popularity, and the world saw the resignation of a Pope, an event not seen in centuries, and the election of the first non-European Pope since 741.
Mars is the planet ruling our action and it changes signs moving into Taurus April 20. When Mars changes signs the energy of movement changes taking on the attributes of the sign it enters.
Taurus is the natural ruler of the second house of money and income and to some extent our focus will fall in this area over the next six weeks. It is a much slower, laid back energy and will be a great contrast to the Aries energy the first 20 days of the month. Decisions and change made during this time will be slower and well considered. Taurus is the second sign of spring and associated with the period when spring bursts into bloom and is associated with the Earth. Mars in Taurus is considered to be in its detriment meaning it does not work as effectively.
Venus also enters Taurus April 15, one of the signs of its rulership and operates well here. This will be a good combination over the next month for the social lives of Capricorn, as the two planets that rule our day to day love and social life will transit Capricorn's 5th house of love affairs, friends and social activity. The Sun also enters Taurus on April 20, putting 3 planets in Capricorn's fifth house. This is powerful!
April 7, Mars conjuncts Venus at 19 degrees of Aries. The male and female planets are together creating assertiveness in close personal relationships. This transit can indicate sex and sexual tension but if there are problems in a relationship they will come out.
April 10, a new moon occurs at 20 degrees of Aries. This new moon falls in the sign signaling spring and the renewal of all things.
April 12, Pluto goes stationary retrograde at 3:32 p.m. EST. Pluto is retrograde almost half of the time, and will remain retrograde until July 17. When Pluto retrogrades we often uncover important truths about ourselves, projects and relationships as it works on a more internal level rather than an outer one. We may see power struggles in the world appear to de-escalate only to come back with renewed vengeance when Pluto goes direct in July. And so it also is in your own life.
As Pluto retrogrades in Capricorn it sets off the energy of the Uranus-Pluto square which becomes exact at 11 degrees of Capricorn-Aries next month. This powerful square will shake up the world and change existing power structures in the world and out lives if it aspects your personal natal chart. This major transit does not have to be exact for major events to occur, far from it. Historically, events are more likely to occur as the planets are several degrees apart, such as now. The recent threats from North Korea are one such instance of the conflict this transit brings. We are at risk of events involving nuclear incidents in and around the globe..
You can be sure this transit will bring major changes to your life if your Sun or a personal planet is being aspected, or you were born March 30-April1, July 1-3, October 3-5, or December 31-January 2.
April 19-20 Mercury conjuncts Uranus and this transit can bring sudden, unexpected and shocking news. We may experience problems with the internet, electronic equipment, and through other forms of communication. This transit could relate to transportation problems, aircraft and it inclines toward irritability. On the other hand, information may flow so fast it is hard to keep up with and brilliant ideas may be in the making for some.
April 21, Mercury squares Pluto and this is a transit of harsh communication and propaganda. The day could have an obsessive tone to it, and it is prone to revealing previously unknown facts and situations, some of them propaganda. Someone may try to convince you of something or vice versa. The media is generally in the spotlight with this transit. This transit is prone to obsessiveness, but good for searching, researching or fact finding.
April 22, Venus opposes Saturn. This transit can connect you with situations relating to the past. It is not good for money matters, love or anything that involves beauty or personal happiness. We could hear negative financial news.
The full moon falls on April 25, at 5 degrees of Scorpio at 3:57 p.m. EST and it is a solar eclipse. This eclipse energy can last for 6 months or more and is important in terms of world events, a branch of astrology known as mundane astrology.
Scorpio is the natural ruler of the eighth house of rebirth and regeneration, death, taxes sex, and shows how you feel in your relationship. Scorpio is ruled by Pluto and Mars the planets of power and intensity, obsession and passion.
Eclipses signal change/important life events and sometimes represent a rebirth. This eclipse will be of importance to you if it fall within 2-5 degrees of a personal planet in your chart.
This eclipse is conjunct Saturn, and opposed by Mars and the Sun in Taurus. There is a major contrast between the Scorpio (Mars) energy and that of Taurus (Venus) and the two are at odds. This eclipse can signal a release of tension and as it falls upon the Saturn-Pluto sextile there can be a type of deep rebirth in some area moving toward transformation, although there may also be a sense of loss or grief for some, and in the world.
On the world stage this eclipse is significant in the chart of the US, N. Korea, Iran's President Obama and Syria to name a few.
April 28, the Sun opposes Saturn and this is a negative and frustrating transit. Sun-Saturn transits deal with responsibility and obligations and tend to throw up roadblocks and delays and show us where our limitations lie.
Next month we will experience a lunar eclipse in Taurus. The spring eclipses fall on the 8th/2ond house axis of taxes and money.

My Guardian Angel and I by Annique Cree

by Pmp Advisors on 03/15/13

The Angels are appearing more and more in our world now. I was just checking my bookcase for something to read and the book "Your guardian Angel and You" popped out!  So I read it and
it just made my eyes open widely!

I did the exercise in the book about how to connect or reconnect to your guardian angel and wow she came to be with me.  It was a beautiful reunion I cried like crazy and now we are becoming best friends once again.  We play games on the radio and if i want a message from her she will do it through a song.   When I travel she keeps me company and we love the games.  In meditation she came and I asked her about my move.  I told her that I was getting scared for I cannot seem to  find anything i can afford.
She told me "do not worry my love it is already in the making,  it's getting ready for you soon and you will move",  "so lets do something fun like decorate your house".

So all of a sudden I find myself in this house and we are decorating it together.   It was fun and it eased my worry, so in other words it was like it already happened that I was in the home.

Now when she comes its always this exiting energy like my best friend is coming to visit me.

I just wanted to share this and let everyone know that anyone can meet their guardian angel like that, its invigorating and exiting and the love you feel is immense!

Preparing for a Great Psychic Reading!

by Pmp Advisors on 03/06/13

Prepare for a Great Psychic Reading before you call!

Welcome to my blog!  I am very glad to be able to connect with those that are interested in the metaphysical and who are seeking enlightenment.  A new age is dawning. More and more we are hearing about others who are opening up to the prospect of psychic healing and advice.

In the months and weeks to come I hope to cover articles about enlightenment, meditation, chakra cleansing, universal laws and how they apply to your life. I hope you will add your comments and send me your stories, especially those of you who have had psychic experiences and/or out of body or near death experiences. I will add your stories in articles on the blog if you allow it.  I am hoping I can provide the necessary information to peek your interests.

I feel the following information is necessary for those who are seeking advice from our Advisors here on PMP.

Preparing for a psychic reading is important. Good preparation generally means a favorable outcome for both the Advisor and the client.

Getting a good psychic reading involves more than choosing the right Psychic Advisor.   The reading involves you primarily and you must want to participate.  The Advisor is there to tell you what is seen but you must decide what to do with the information.  Once you have made your selection for a Spiritual Advisor and have decided to pursue a reading, it's time to prepare yourself in order to make the most of the experience.  A Psychic Advisor is not a fairy godmother or a fortune teller. They can’t wave a magic wand and change the course your life is taking.  That is up to you alone.  The Advisor is there to give you the most important options that he/she sees for you.

Before making your first call you should ask yourself "what is the purpose of this call and what to I want to get out of it?"
·        Do you just want the Advisor to tell you what you want to hear or will you be willing to hear what may be opposite of your hopes and dreams
·        If you hear unwelcome news will you be ready to face whatever may come and take action?
·        If you do not hear what you want to hear are you ready to be honest with yourself and take responsibility to change the path you are on and perhaps seek other avenues?
Often clients will seek out Psychic after Psychic just waiting and hoping to find one who will tell them:
    * He/she is your soul mate.
    * He/she will love and cherish you on their return
    * He/she will be the ideal mate and make the future rosy and bright

If you have been searching for those who will just tell you what you want to hear there are plenty out there who will do so. Unfortunately when things do not work out as you envision the outcome you will usually blame the Advisor instead of taking responsibility for not truly seeking the advice that will help you to alter your path in life and create a future that you truly can be happy with.

If you are not open to hearing what the reader brings through it is much better to wait before making the decision to call a psychic. Make sure you're ready and willing to hear what is communicated. It doesn't mean you have to accept what you hear, but make sure you're really open to listening to all the possibilities. You are the creator of your destiny and only you can decide what to do with the information that you are given.  You may find it useful immediately but sometimes after a period of time you will find that the advice was absolutely correct and you still have time to put the correct thoughts in place to create the future you desire. The future is ever changing as each persons "free will" alters it.  The messages that you receive from your Advisor may be what you need at a later date and you will not know that until that time comes. It is wise to write down the advice and check it over at a later date.

On a similar note, holding back information to "test" your psychic generally backfires. If you can't take a leap of faith after you've gone through a careful selection process in choosing the Psychic, it's unlikely you'll be open enough to get much out of the reading. The more open you are, the more detailed and specific the reading will tend to be. This doesn't mean you have to feed the Psychic all the answers, it just means communicating what your concern is and being open to being read. With this in mind, approach the reading process with clear goals in terms of what you want to explore, and what you plan to do with the information you receive.

Sometimes it is wise to write your questions down before your reading and take notes.  Make sure your questions relate to what you are really seeking. It's wise to ask your most important questions first, so you're sure not to run out of time.

One last note...all of our readers here on PMP are ethical, caring people and we all love your feedback and comments, however,  please remember that this is our business.  If you are not happy with us it is easy just to not use our service again and move on to another psychic.  You can usually tell in the first five minutes of a reading if the reader is connecting with you. It may be that you just do not relate well to the Advisor and that is ok.   Sometimes we do not get clear messages from our guides in regards to some clients and it takes a little longer to evaluate. Therefore if the reading is not going well it is ok to wait until another time or try another advisor.  Just be kind to us and that kindness will be returned to you.

I welcome your comments and opinions and hope we can share our communications and grow spiritually as we move forward.

I want to leave you today with words from one of my favorite Authors (Denise Linn) Soul Coaching cards.

BEGINNINGS

Card meaning: A new cycle is beginning
in your Life. Wipe the slate clean; It's now
time to release the old and start again.

Your Soul wants you to know: Life goes in
cycles. In the phases of the earth, the plants
die in the fall so that there can be new birth
In the spring-It's the universal dance of
death and rebirth. There's a time to end and
begin, and this Is the close of one cycle and
the beginning of another.

Although it's often difficult to release familiar routines,
situatlons, or relationships when they no longer
empower you, your Soul asks that you not
cling to the old but set sail into new waters.

Face your fear and allow yourself to stretch
In a new direction. Your Soul Is at your side,
and wonderful opportunities will be born in
your life. Wholeness occurs when you can
say yes to both endings and beginnings.

Affirmation: "I cherish all the cycles in my life"

Blessings to you all this glorious day!

Hispanic Christmas by Jolene Frank

by Pmp Advisors on 11/20/12

Christmas is a religious holiday for most Hispanics, a festive occasion to celebrate with family. Throughout the Christmas season Hispanic families tend to mesh the traditions that reflect and preserve their language, values and culture with those from the U.S. – for their own unique take on the holiday.

Though Santa permeates the holiday season for all nationalities in the U.S., in Hispanic households you are likely to see a Nativity scene displayed in homes along with a jolly, old fellow and stockings adorning chimneys. Besides cookies and milk for Santa, Hispanic families might also leave water and fresh grass for camels as children await Three Kings Day, or “El Día de los Reyes,” which is celebrated on January 6.

Much like Thanksgiving, for Hispanics, Christmas Eve will be brimming with bountiful tables filled with either sweet-smelling tamales or hallacas, roasted “lechon” (pork), “jamon” (ham) and perhaps “coquito” – a creamy Puerto Rican coconut variation of eggnog made with spices and rum – to name just a few. Traditional “musica navideña” or “villancicos” (carols) will fill homes in combination with better-known U.S. Christmas carols.

For Hispanics Christmas remains a predominantly religious holiday. Even though more and more Hispanics are moving away from the Catholic religion, the ties and traditions that are well established into the culture itself have remained. The holiday of Christmas is a season more than a day to celebrate. As with most traditions in the Hispanic culture, the celebrations of the Christmas season are devoted family times. The season of Christmas traditionally lasts from the beginning known as Advent through the Baptism of Jesus.

Traditionally the holiday season begins with Advent. Advent is the Latin word for arrival or coming. It is the time when the traditional Catholic prepares for the coming of the Lord. Advent begins four Sundays before Christmas. One of the most popular traditions in celebrating Advent is the Advent wreath. Traditionally there are three purple colored candles and one that is rose colored. The rose colored candle is lit on the third Sunday of Advent. The purple candles are to remind the celebrants to turn their hearts to God and the rose colored candle is to symbolize joy. The white candle, lighted on Christmas, is called the Christ Candle, and represents purity.

Posadas is a tradition that many Hispanic cultures share. Posadas mean literally shelter or lodging. It is a reenactment of Joseph and Mary’s journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem and their search for shelter. This tradition is celebrated by a group of people traveling from house to house through out a community asking for shelter. All are to refuse them until they come to the last house in which they are all invited to come in. The ritual lasts for nine days (December 16-24).

The Epiphany, the oldest of the Christmas feasts, is also known as Three Kings Day for the three magi who found the Christ Child after following a star to Bethlehem. It is celebrated on Jan. 6 and is the major holiday. This is the day traditionally to give gifts as opposed to Christmas day as in other cultures.

Hispanic Christmas Traditions

Christmas is one of the most popular Hispanic traditions. And there are many wonderful customs and practices associated with it. Some of the most popular traditions are:

•Las posadas and las pastorelas – Posadas are re-enactments of the time when Mary and Joseph were looking for a place to stay before Jesus was born. Las pastorelas are plays that retell the story of Christmas. These two Hispanic traditions are particularly popular in Mexico.
•La cena de nochebuena (Christmas Eve’s family dinner) – A very special night celebrated with family and close friends. Food plays an important role during this celebration and each country has its own special dish.
•La misa de gallo (Midnight Mass) – This special mass is celebrated at the stroke of midnight and it commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ.
•La quema de polvora y luces de navidad (fireworks and sparklers) – Fireworks of every kind are very popular during this time of year.
•Los farolitos y luminarias (festive lanterns) – Many communities celebrate the Day of the Immaculate Conception by lighting candles and lanterns. In some countries this special celebration takes place on December 7th. It is also known as El Dia de las Luces (Day of the Lights).
•La carta al niño Dios (Christmas letter to Baby Jesus) – Latino children write letters to el niño instead of Santa Claus, even though Santa Claus is growing more and more popular with each generation.
•El nacimiento (The Nativity Scene) – The nativity scene plays a prominent role during Christmas. It is usually placed below the Christmas tree and it can get quite elaborate.
•Los reyes magos (The Three Kings) – Even though the day of the Three Kings falls in January, they are important players during Christmas celebrations.
•Decorar con pascuas (decorate with poinsettia flowers) – Natural and artificial poinsettias add the Christmas touch (toque navideño) to homes and offices.
The Christmas season is a time to connect with family both near and far and to celebrate culture and tradition. Wishing you Felices Fiestas and a Próspero Año Nuevo

What lies Beneath by Leslie Hale

What Lies Beneath

October brings major change as the planet of structure, responsibility and limitations moves into the sign of Scorpio, along with Mercury and the Sun. The season of Scorpio is upon us, encouraging us to dig beneath the surface of all matters and discover what actually lies beneath those things we take for granted and live with in the world. These are the feelings and energy we will be living under for the next two and a half years, and nothing will be superficial during the period Saturn is in the most intense of signs.

Saturn makes its grand entrance into the sign that rules the eighth house of death, transformation, taxes and sex on October 5, for the first time in 30 years.

Saturn last transited this sign November 30, 1982-November 18, 1985. Prior to this it was October of 1953-October of 1956. Anyone born during these periods will experience their first or second Saturn return during the next two and a half year cycle. Queen Elizabeth of England, God willing, and all others her age will experience their third Saturn return. This period always proves a pivotal point, as one prepares to make way for their next life phase, as the planet structure and limitation returns to its original place in our natal chart every 29.9 years.

As Saturn moves through Scorpio it will take on the characteristics attributed to that sign. Scorpio is ruled by Mars and Pluto. Mars is an aggressive planet, considered the God of War, and the energy it evokes is anything but passive. Scorpio energy is regenerative, not fond of compromise, emotional, determined, charismatic controlling and often takes on a 'do or die' type of approach. The highest and best use of this energy is to heal or to transform. Scorpio energy can sink to the depths of depravity or soar to the highest of spiritual realms. It is a powerful sign.

Those most affected by Saturn in Scorpio are born under the sign of Scorpio itself. This may not be an easy time, but it will be transformative, and as Saturn transits your first house, individuals generally re-create themselves in some very important ways. Those born under fixed signs: Taurus, Aquarius and Leo will at some point during this cycle experience Saturn's square or opposition to their Sun, another transformative period as Saturn delays, restricts, and creates obstacles. Those born under a Water sign will experience Saturn in Scorpio in an easier manner as it trines their Sun. A trine is a more harmonious expression of energy. Virgo and Capricorn will experience a sextile to their Sun, also an easier expression of energy. But, much depends on what else Saturn is aspecting in the personal natal chart, as well as the house it will be transiting during this cycle.

Other transits in October:

October 4, Jupiter retrogrades at 16 degrees of Gemini. Jupiter is the planet of finance and gain, so we may see a slowdown in monies or expansion over the next four months. On the other hand a retrograde is a complex process and we can experience an increase in inner idealism, longing or turning within for answers as opposed to outside sources. Understanding can become deeper.

October 4, Mercury conjuncts Saturn at 29 degrees of Libra. Realism is the key, and looking at matters in a serious manner, especially relationships. Decision making can be clear, but communication more difficult. Be careful driving and avoid situations that could bring accidents.

October 5, Saturn enters Scorpio at 04:33p.m. EST.

October 5-19, Saturn trines Neptune. The planet of reality and structure comes together with the planet of fantasy, illusion, delusion and confusion. This combination will create a more stable outlook, if not practical. We will tend to look at situations as they are, rather than how we wish they would be. This is a period of time when your visions can come together in a very practical way.

October 5, Mercury enters Scorpio, conjuncting Saturn, and kicking off this transit with a bang-as well as a serious look at what is reality. The same transit as October 4, but in the sign of Scorpio. While Libra is oriented toward relationships of all types, Scorpio is eighth house related: money, sex, taxes, and other people's money. This Mercury transit will be more intense than the previous day.

October 6, Mars enters Sagittarius. Mars shows us where our action will be for the next 40 or 50 days, and Sagittarius is the natural ruler of the ninth house of learning, travel and legal and medical matters. This energy moves much faster and you may be motivated to try new things and ideas. Mars will be zipping through the sign ruled by Jupiter until November 16.

October 7, Mars squares Neptune. This can trigger feelings of discouragement or hopelessness, as well as feeling tired. Neptune is ego-less and those who are ego driven will have a harder time with this transit. The best use of this energy is higher spiritual pursuits or helping others.

October 9, The Sun trines Jupiter. This is a positive, uplifting transit, and can bring feelings of luck. You can see the bigger picture, and you may in fact be lucky today if it is hitting the right place in your personal chart.

October 9, Venus trines Pluto. Relationships may go to a deeper level today, and you may feel your emotions deepen. This is a positive transit for money matters and getting to the bottom of situations connected to relationships in an easy manner.

October 15, A full moon occurs in Libra. This sign rules relationships of all types, and it is here we will be focused. Mercury conjuncts Venus, as well setting the stage for fun or romantic conversation, as long as it does not turn to picky or critical. Mars trines Uranus, bringing an element of excitement and newness to the situation. Overall, a positive new moon!

October 16-17, Venus conjuncts Mercury at 15-16 degrees of Virgo.

October 23, The Sun enters Scorpio for the next 29 days. The Sun has entered the 'fixed,' period where the weather turns cold in most of the country!

October 25, The Sun conjuncts Saturn. This is negative, tiring and depressive energy geared toward responsibilities. Might as well make the day about work, because this is what it is about. We could hear negative news in the world.

October 28, Venus enters Libra and Mars opposes Jupiter. Venus is in its element in Libra, the sign ruling relationships. People will become more conciliatory and less picky over the next 29 days. Mars opposing Jupiter is a transit of over-expansion and over reacting. It could involve money or emotions if you are not careful.

October 28, Mercury enters Sagittarius. Mercurial energy changes and becomes faster over the next 29 days or so. Sagittarius is about newness and new thought processes. You may change your outlook. Enjoy the excitement while you can as Mercury goes retrograde on November 6.

October 29, The full moon occurs at 7 degrees of Taurus. Taurus is the natural ruler of the second house of money and possessions and it is here many of us will be focused. Taurus is a calmer energy than last month's full moon and it trines Pluto giving depth of feeling and emotion. Taurus can be all about the physical, and fine, expensive surroundings. Mercury squares Neptune, creating lack of clarity, or you can escape into daydreams. This moon falls within five degrees of Saturn, making it about reality and work which can be a bit harsh. It depends on where it actually falls in your personal natal chart.

Mercury, Uranus and Pluto in a T-square September 20 by Leslie Hale

by Pmp Advisors on 09/19/12

The evening hours of Wednesday, September 19-21 Mercury opposes Uranus and squares Pluto at 5-7 degrees of Libra-Aries-Capricorn. This sets off the Uranus-Pluto square creating what is called a T-square, and if this is aspecting your Sun or another personal planet in your chart expect to see events unfold. The transit is exact on the 20th and by the 21st the energy will be waning, but the effects will still be in the heavens for a while. This transit will primarily relate to relationships of all types, business and individual desires.

Mercury is considered the planet of communication and rules what we say, think and hear. It rules, travel, automobiles, young people and children, siblings, immediate family members, co-workers and neighbors and pets.

Mercury-Pluto is intense, obsessive thinking and good for getting to the bottom of an issue if you don’t over think it. It can concern media. Sometimes agendas and decisions come to the surface and situations can be found out. Mercury-Uranus is indicative of unexpected news, changeable thinking, sudden resolutions and decisions, and it can be genius or flakiness along with rapid fire thinking. Sometimes it’s hard to know the difference. It can affect computers and all forms of electronic media and gadgets.

This transit can have an effect on relationships that can suddenly end, if they are tottering on the brink. There could be arguments, resolutions, or a new way of looking at things.
Be careful traveling or driving, let new ideas withstand the test of time, and remember that obsessiveness is seldom productive in personal relationships.

We will hear unexpected news, potentially news of accidents and some things may seem shocking. Arguments and debates will dominate the news, possibly news about oil and media, and with Uranus just about anything is possible

Herbal Tips by Becky Long

HERBMAMA SEZ…..

BELOW IS A LIST OF DIFFERENT WAYS ONE CAN USE HERBS. THEY CAN BE USED FOR MORE THAN FOR JUST ‘TEAS’. YOU CAN USE THEM IN SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS TO ENHANCE & IMPROVE YOUR LIFE. SOME ARE EASY, SOME ARE A BIT MORE DIFFICULT, BUT I THINK THEY CAN BE FUN TOO!

IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ON ANY OF THESE PROCEDURES, HERBS OR ANYTHING, DON’T HESITATE TO CONTACT ME AT: Sixgunmama_2000@yahoo.com I’LL BE GLAD TO HELP ANY WAY I CAN! ENJOY…HAVE FUN AT IT!

*PILLS: choose your herb & grind it up into a powder. add 10-20% slippery elm powder, it will act as a binder. Add a small amount of water...enough so that it is like dough. Let it sit for a few minutes. roll mixture into small pills, about the size of a pea. Place them on cookie sheet. You can leave them at room temp to dry or place in pre-heated oven about 250...but turn the oven off! Check every 5 mins. or so, should be done in about 15 min. when they dry & hard, u can put them into a bottle & make sure you label them. If you do up herbs that are considered bitters, those pills can be dipped in honey right before you take them and that helps them go down a bit easier.

*ELECTUARY: take pre-measured herb & mix with raw honey, molasses or peanut butter to form a paste. A child would take 1/4 tsp. of this followed with some juice. It’s an easy way to get herbs down a child that don’t like taking pills, etc.

*SYRUP: 1 oz. your chosen herb. 1 pt. water. bring to a boil & boil it till about 1/2 the water is gone. Then you strain it. Add about 2-4 oz. raw honey to help preserve it, if you are going to add honey, let it cool for a bit because the heat will destroy the healthy enzymes in the honey or you can add liquid glycerin, which is sweet, to help preserve it. Types of syrups you can make elderberry, rose hips…the top herb for vit. C content, slippery elm bark for coughs…it’s  soothing for the throat.

*BEVERAGE TEA: 1 tsp herb...add boiling water. Let it steep for 5 min.

*MEDICINAL TEA: Bring pt. water to rolling boil. Remove from heat. Add 1 oz. dried herb. Cover. Do not reheat it. Let  it steep for 20 min. and remember, it’s the steeping process that brings out the medicinal qualities of the herbs. After the 20 min. is up, you strain it. Sweeten if needed.

*SUN INFUSION…very potent! You need a large glass jar with lid. 1 oz. herb. 1 pt. cold water. Put on lid...sit in sunlight for 3 hrs. You can strain it if you want…it’s great for strong herbal bath as well.

*DECOCTIONS: are usually done with the roots, stems or bark of the plants & they are a little more difficult to infuse because they are so hard. You take 1 oz. herb (bruised or chopped) 1 pt. water. bring to boil...simmer for 30 min. strain it & make sure you use within 24 hrs.

**These teas that you are making with larger quantities of water…don’t leave them sitting out like overnight…they will go bad. The idea is to make what u can use up in a short amount of time, then you make more if you need too.

*TINCTURES: 1 pint. of at least 60 proof vodka...the higher the proof, the better the tinctures will be. Take  4 oz. of dried herb, if fresh, use twice as much. Dump the herbs into a clean jar  & pour in the alcohol, screw on the lid & make sure it’s snug! Shake this twice daily for 14 days. Strain, dispense into dark bottles, label & keep in cool dark place. **Now tinctures are much stronger than infusions or decoction, so be aware of that, but they do last a lot longer. It’s a fast way of getting some good medicinal herbs into your body quickly.

*LINAMENTS: make sure you mark the bottle "poison" so it won't be ingested. 2 oz. dried herbs, 1 pt. rubbing alcohol, put into a glass jar & close tightly. Shake once daily for 14 days. Strain & use the alcohol bottle for dispensing. Linaments are one of the strongest pain rubs out there. You can make a mixture of eucalyptus, cayenne pepper & lobelia, that makes a great pain rub!!!

*INFUSED OILS: 2 oz. dried herbs. 1 pt. oil of your choice, one that doesn‘t go rancid quickly. Let it sit in the sunlight. Like on a window sill & shake daily for 2-3 wks. strain into dark glass container. You can use these in your bath, as an after bath body oil. For instance chamomile or lavender, you can do up arnica oil this way to apply to bruises, sore muscles, things like that.

*HERBAL BATH: muslin bag...1/4 cup herbs, you can hang this on your faucet under the running water as you are filling your tub, then put the bag in the bath with you. For a stronger herbal bath. make a herbal infusion on top of stove, then strain & add this to bath water. You could also add 1-2 cups sea salt! Herbs to try for this might be lavender, chamomile or eucalyptus for sinus or stuffiness issues.

*DOUCHES: all kinds of reasons to use douches, but not something you should do on a regular basis. You can use it to treat an occasional infection, but not as a daily freshener as it can upset that delicate balance. Make strong herbal infusion and you could use lavender, goldenseal, Oregon grape root or slippery elm…as it is soothing or uva ursi as it‘s a disinfectant, make enough of it for a pint. add 1 tsp apple cider vinegar or you could add some yogurt, just make sure it contains the live cultures. Leave in the vagina for 10-15 min. or as long as you can, then expel it

*POULTICE/PLASTER: you can use pulverized herbs or bruised herbs that you have worked in a mortar & pestile or you can use powdered herbs….moistened with a little bit of water, you can add a drop or two of essential oil, some clays or even a bit of tincture, mix it all up good & apply to affected area and cover with cotton cloth. a warm cloth or hot water bottle may be applied on top of that if heat therapy is needed. Put towel over that so it doesn’t dry out. After removing poultice--rinse with clean water. Those usually get changed twice a day. Rashes, bites, getting rid of infections out are some reasons to use poultices or plasters. You can use comfrey root, calendula, echinacea, lavender, flax seed, oatmeal, slippery elm. You can even mustard seed in the case of lung issues.

War on Women! by Leslie Hale

Todd Akin’s war against women

"First of all, from what I understand from doctors, [pregnancy from rape] is really rare. If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down."—Representative Todd Akin, Sunday, August 19, 2012

Missouri Republican Rep.Todd Akin was born July 5, 1947 in New York City.  His time of birth is unpublished. Prior to making the above comment, he was the leading Republican candidate in his Senate race, and August 20, the National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee said the committee had withdrawn advertising planned for the Missouri race.

Akin’s comment has caused a political firestorm, and although he has publically apologized, many women feel insulted by the comment on several levels. First of all, he calls into question the issue of, ‘legitimate rape,’ implying there is more than one type of rape (that is not legitimate), and implying a woman’s body has the ability to prevent a pregnancy if a rape has occurred. It is hard to believe someone who would espouse such a view is actually a sitting member of the House Science and Technology Committee. But, let’s take a look at the more dominant aspects in his chart to understand more about him.

Akin is a 12 degree Cancer with Mercury in Cancer, so he is an emotional thinker. Those born with Sun/Mercury in Cancer are emotional-intuitive thinkers and at times it can be difficult for them to make rational decisions about something they are opposed to or feel is unfair. As a result of their emotionally charged thinking they often don’t make allowances for other opinions. As a result they are generally not found in the math and science fields.  They are often involved in creative endeavors, teaching or an occupation that would involve swaying the masses through communication. Which is of course, exactly what a politician does.

His Sun squares Neptune and this is usually indicative of people who often have a deep seated inferiority complex often as a result of early conditioning, alcoholic or absentee parents or parents who did not connect to the nature of the individual child. Sometimes it manifests as an interest in the occult or spiritual side of life, but the individual can get lost along the way. Often it represents an individual who hides their true motivations or simply does not present the truth about situations in their lives.  These individuals are often deceptive either knowingly or inadvertently naive. Akin grew up the son of a Reverend, which set the course of his belief system.

The moon is an indication of one’s emotional life, and in a man’s chart the moon represents all the women in his life. Akin was born with a moon in Aquarius. Moon in Aquarius individuals consider themselves independent humanitarians and often convey such views.  They have the ability to reach out to groups and individuals from many walks of life, but do not have such an easy time with one to one relationships that require personal warmth and intimacy. His moon lies in his eighth house from his Sun which is commonly associated with sex and taxes, (other people’s money) death and rebirth.

His moon opposes Saturn and Pluto at 8 and 12 degrees of Leo in the second house of income/ security and things the individual places value on. The second/eighth houses are commonly associated with what is considered mine (the individual) verses the collective which includes ideas. The second house also relates to the relationship we have with our own body. The eighth house rules sex, death, phobias, compulsions, and things the individual does not have control over. With the opposition to his second house, his personal sense of security is involved with trying to control emotions and issues concerning women (the moon) and their relationships with their own bodies, and he does not especially value the ideas of independent women.

Saturn and Pluto are conjunct in Leo at 8 and 12 degrees. Saturn-Pluto individuals can hang on to ideas, situations and views with great tenancy and stubbornness. There is sometimes a marked desire concerning revenge, and a strong drive to succeed at any cost. Author-Astrologer Jeff Green wrote, “(individuals with Pluto-Saturn aspects) will promote the need to actualize and realize their own authority, and establish this authority within society.” Since these planets oppose his moon he will come into conflict trying to impose those ideas on women, who will be a focus.

Moon opposing Saturn individuals (men) often have difficulty relating to or dealing with women or their own emotions. Often their partners have difficulty relating to them, as well.  The moon represents all the women in his life and how he perceives them. Saturn is a cold, harsh planet, all about responsibility and obligation, and an opposition means the greatest obstacles seem to come from other individuals. (Often women)  The fact is, the individual in question often creates problems, which others react to in a negative way. Moon-Saturn individuals often come across as cold, and have an interest in doing the perceived ‘right thing,’ which often becomes the most important thing to them. Moon-Saturn men often respond coolly toward women or don’t trust them, and often have/had cold relationships with their Mother or family members. Some of them have long, but cold marriages and relationships, or their partnerships are based on a strong sense of responsibility, obligation and duty. Love and matters of the heart will always take a back seat to duties of a Moon-Saturn individual. Akin has been married since 1975 to Lulli Akin, described as an evangelical Christian, homemaker, and education pioneer.

Moon opposing Pluto individuals are very intense in their emotional lives, and not always open about their feelings. They often try and control what people know about them. Pluto is about control, sex and obsessions, and these individuals often react in this manner. With Saturn opposing his moon (he is not in touch with women, doesn’t trust them, and doesn’t relate well to their personal issues) as well as Pluto (Moon-Pluto oppositions often work themselves out through control issues, and becoming a breeding ground for all types of emotional issues surrounding women and the emotional life) Akin’s relationships/perceptions of women would be basically cold, non trusting, reserved, obsessive, and controlled or controlling.

Oppositions are always going to be troublesome in an individual chart.  Problems seem to come from others.  Very successful people often turn oppositions into positive situations, however.  An individual with Akin’s opposition for example, could take the energy that is present in the chart and go in a different direction.  For example, he might have become an advocate for poor women in poverty stricken areas, and turned the opposition into something different, rather than making oppressive statements about women. But, his natural inclination is toward control, (Pluto) and this is the direction he has chosen to go in.

Another catalyst in Akins chart is Jupiter, at 17 degrees of Scorpio. Politics and laws are the realm of Jupiter, also religion and philosophy. Jupiter in Scorpio is intense, and would give the individual a shrewd business sense.  These individuals are uncompromising in their beliefs and viewpoints.

Looking at this aspect from his Sun sign, Jupiter in the fifth house rules children (as well as love/love affairs) and it squares Saturn and Pluto in his second house, which also rules body image. So, from this we can easily deduce his stance on women and abortion. He objects to it from ethical, moral, religious and monetary viewpoints, and does not believe women have the rights to control their own bodies. Since he doesn’t trust women or relate to them personally, he does not believe they can objectively define rape. Author Jeff Green wrote about Pluto-Jupiter individuals, “some individuals will develop an attitude of philosophical and intellectual superiority when they repeatedly find that others do not, or cannot comprehend what they are trying to say. Superiority promotes the need to convert others to one’s own point of view.”  Sometimes this transit manifests itself as inferiority.

Jupiter square Pluto individuals can sometimes set themselves up as a law unto themselves, often espousing dogmatic codes that exert control over others. This trait can be seen in his refusal to drop from the race, which the Republican GOP has called for. He defies his own party dictates and sets his own rules. Jupiter-Pluto individuals can become arrogant and unyielding in their determination to follow what they consider their true path.

Akin’s chart may have a T-square between the second, fifth and eighth houses, which is a complex stressful pattern that emerges as a single minded motivation throughout life, for better or worse.  But, without his time of birth it is impossible to ascertain.

Akins actually meant exactly what he said about ‘legitimate rape,’, and it has even crueler undertones disrespecting the rights of women who have been raped, calling into question the type of rape as opposed to the universal viewpoint that rape is unacceptable under any condition. With Jupiter (politics-government-religion) as a catalyst, Akins believes he has the political wherewithal and personal right to make laws that control women according to his own personal viewpoints, and he was/is speaking from and about a time period of long ago where discrimination toward female victims of felonious sexual assault was the norm, and women were considered the perpetrator of the crime, or the crime swept under the rug. His personal sense of security is at stake and his belief system is embedded with the idea that women cannot be allowed control of their own lives and bodies.

Akins really does not like women as independent individuals; he believes their actions should be circumscribed and controlled and thinks it is his place to become the catalyst of these actions. He may regret his words for political reasons, but he did not in fact, misspeak; he simply conveyed his own personal world view about ‘legitimate rape” and women to the world.

An Intense Week: The transits of the Gods of power, money, love, and revolutions

The planets will conspire this week to bring dramatic action as Venus, Mars, Uranus, Pluto and Saturn all connect in planetary configurations that will bring frustration, power struggles and revelations about relationships to the forefront.

The energy starts building Monday, and by Wednesday August 15, Venus, the planet ruling love and money opposes Pluto.  Venus-Pluto oppositions generally deal with situations that have broken down, or break down, that include very intense feelings and drama that can play out with others.  This includes feelings of jealousy, intensity and possessiveness, and lack of consideration for the feelings with others.  Pluto also has to do with agendas and hidden agendas. By the same token Venus squares Uranus bringing an element of the unexpected.  This can indicate intense attractions that are unsuitable, or unstable, as well as sudden change in existing relationships.   If this configuration is hitting your chart at the right angle, it could bring a break up or ending. At the same time Venus also rules money and possessions.  This transit reminds me of the Courts of medieval Europe. One minute a King, the next in the tower. (Or worse)

This transit of Venus actually ‘sets off,’ the Uranus-Pluto square that we are living under. So, in actuality it becomes far more powerful than just a simple Venus transit: it is activating the square between Uranus and Pluto. Pluto deals with the ‘powers that be’ and Uranus is changeability and revolutionary sentiments. If the Uranus-Pluto square is aspecting a personal planet in your chart of 5-11 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Libra or Aries look to see major events occur this week involving change in situations and people.

Mars conjuncts Saturn at 24 degrees of Libra on Tuesday, August 14-15. Mars-Saturn transits deal with anger and frustration. This adds to the mix of Venus throwing in a cold dose of reality to the situation. Mars-Saturn transits can be indicative of police, frustrated impulses to action, conflict with authority, accidents and harsh situations, that in many cases this will involve relationships of some kind.

Again, this will affect you more if it is aspecting a personal planet in your natal chart at 21-25 degrees or so, of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries or Libra.  These signs will be most affected.

The end of the week however, is a little more positive as the energy of the planets involved in these two major configurations start to separate and the New moon in Leo occurs at 25 degrees of the most dramatic of signs on August 17.  The moon sextiles Saturn bringing a little more levity and stability, as well as drama.

Events on the world stage

Anytime a planet sets off the Uranus-Pluto square we live under during this time, we will see major events transpire on the world stage. Monday, August 13, 3 people were killed in a shooting near Texas A&M University. Uranus-Pluto is an angry square indicative of violence and unexpected upheaval. Expect to see an escalation of violence around the world, especially Syria. Mars-Saturn rules police and military actions, and Libra rules governments.  Just about anything can happen and we will see a great deal of volatility. Pluto rules oil, hidden agendas, power, sex and secretive actions and agendas.  Uranus is about change and revolution. Venus rules money and we could see changes in financial markets and situations around the world.

The US Natal Chart

In the US natal chart the Mars-Saturn conjunction squares Mercury in the eighth house.  This is indicative of negative financial news, (credit and ratings) taxes and taxpayer money. There will be bickering and arguing over taxes and money, and negative responses.  At its worse the eighth house can represent endings and death, and there could be news of issues surrounding young people, transportation and accidents before the transit is over.

About Politics

It will be a brutal week in the Presidential campaigns.  Mars-Saturn is indicative of frustrations with government. In Republican candidate Mitt Romney’s chart Venus sets off the Uranus-Pluto square in his natal chart, bringing into question the issues surrounding him.  He could release information that is unclear and non-factual or be subject to such accusations. Which is of course, what has already been occurring, and will escalate on this transit.

In VP candidate Paul Ryan’s chart Saturn and Mars conjunct his moon at 24 degrees of Libra. This is harsh energy and all about work.  He may, however encounter problems with women, and this is an intense, angry and emotional transit. The Uranus-Pluto square is setting off natal Uranus in his chart at 8 degrees of Libra, and the week will bring unexpected elements to his first week of work. (Remember the picture of medieval Europe—around the time of King Henry VIII.)

In President Obama’s chart Saturn is squaring Saturn in his twelfth house of things that are secret and hidden. Mars conjuncts Saturn on August 16-17, bringing a day of frustration and perhaps revealing previously unknown facts to the mix relating to events in the campaign and the US.  Events unfold unexpectedly relating to partners, both personal and professional. A moon conjunct Uranus will bring about unexpected situations and changeability and is actually a dangerous transit for a President or Head of State due to the unpredictibality.

August 2012: The Uranus-Pluto square of 2012 by Leslie Hale

by Pmp Advisors on 08/02/12

This summer is different from any other due to the planetary configuration of Uranus squaring Pluto. Astrologers talked about this celestial event for years before, and now we are in this changeable period of time for ourselves and the world. There is tension, unpredictability and volatility in the air. We are seeing a global shift of wealth and power, and the US is more polarized than ever before in the lifetime of anyone reading this. We continue to be at risk of recession, manipulation of the economy by forces outside our control (oil companies, banks, politicians, Wall Street, unemployment, the destabilization of Europe and those using the threat of terrorism and war to name a few) We are also at risk of earth related disasters such as earthquakes, flooding, and problems with electricity, as we recently saw in India and West Virginia. (Uranus rules electricity) All of this can be overwhelming, and sometimes the best recourse is to take a deep breath and focus on those things we can change in our own small corner of the world.

During July the Uranus-Pluto square was exact at 8 degrees of Capricorn-Aries. In August the Uranus-Pluto square of 2012 will become exact again at 7 degrees of Aries-Capricorn August 20-September 4. You will be affected to a greater degree by this transit if it is aspecting personal planets in your chart at 5-9 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn, or if you were born March 25-29, June 26-30, September 28-October 2, or December 27-31. Otherwise, to some extent we are all affected by this powerful configuration. It is further complicated with the confusion and delays a retrograde Mercury brings until August 8, when it goes stationary direct.

Change is not always bad, though. One of the positive occurrences this transit brought in July was an announcement of the first FDA approved drug, Truvada, approved to reduce the risk of HIV infection in uninfected individuals who are at high risk of HIV infection. As Uranus transits through Aries over the next 6 years expect to see huge advances in medicine.

Much of America is continues to be under a severe drought and corn crops are slim in much of the country, especially the Corn Belt.  Why should you care about corn?  It’s what livestock eat, and it is used in the production of everything you can imagine. By fall, expect food prices in the US to rise again, as the Uranus-Pluto square becomes exact at 6 degrees, falling on Jupiter, the planet ruling money in the US chart.

August has two full moons this month-a rare occurrence, and the second one on August 31, is known as a blue moon. August 2, a full moon occurs at 10 degrees of Aquarius.  Aquarius is the natural ruler of the eleventh house of groups and associations. Aquarius is about quirky off the beaten path ideas, and freedom. This is actually the friendliest full moon we have in a while.  Its trine to Uranus and Jupiter is a positive indication. However, Aquarius is generally associated with revolution and upheaval we could see changes globally around this time.

Mercury goes stationary direct August 7-10 at 1 degree of Leo. This does not mean we are out of the woods yet! The stationary direct period is generally when glitches and problems arise, and changes in direction occur. Sometimes situations are revealed that we were not aware of, and watch your communication, and your computer. Mercury begins to move forward on August 11, and is in the shadow direct period until August 22. This means that until August 22, Mercury is still not moving at its normal rate of speed, so to some extent we are still under an introspective and changeable Mercurial influence.

Venus enters Cancer on August 8.  Love will become more emotional and activities may become home dominated over the next 29 days. Venus will trine Neptune the 8-10.  This is magical energy indicative of beautiful things and situations, and indicative of being tuned in to others as well as creative. On August 15, Venus squares Uranus and opposes Pluto, setting off the square between Uranus and Pluto.  Love and money will be affected, perhaps unexpectedly, especially if it is aspecting personal planets in your chart between 5-9 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries or Libra. On the world stage expect to see events come to light involving money and commodities, women, sex, and relationships. The financial markets will respond to this transit in unexpected ways, and with Uranus in the picture it tends toward loss, but Uranus is unpredictable. (In July, Mars in Libra set off the Uranus Pluto square and on July 20, the shooting occurred in a Colorado movie theatre leaving 12 dead and numerous injured. ) The point is, when the Uranus-Pluto square is set off by other planets we can expect to see major events in the world.

On August 14-15 Mars conjuncts Saturn at 24 degrees of Libra. This is a stressful and frustrating transit, especially if it is aspecting any of your personal planets. Libra rules relationships and marriage and you could experience frustration in this area.  Libra also rules governments, and Mars-Saturn combinations are often indicative of police and war situations.  This is probably the most frustrating few days of the month, and we will see major events play out on the world stage.

On August 17, the New Moon falls at 25 degrees of Leo. This is a friendlier new moon and it sextiles both Mars and Saturn, helping to lift the issues of the previous few days.

August 18. Mercury sextiles Uranus bringing new ideas and fresh perspectives to the drawing board.

On August 23, the Sun enters Virgo, the mutable part of the summer. Happy birthday Virgos!  Mutable means the weather can go either way can go either way for the next 29 days-warm or fall like!

August 24, Mars enters Scorpio. For the next 6 weeks actions will become more Scorpio like: secretive, intense, and sometimes dramatic. Scorpio is the natural ruler of the eighth house of sex, and other people’s money, and we will all be focused here to some extent.  This energy will work best for Water signs, and for Cancer, it will fall in the fifth house of love affairs.

August 23-24, the Sun opposes Neptune. This is a confusing and tiring transit for many.  On the other hand it can be highly psychic and creative.  Neptune is ego-less and the best use of the energy is in helping others, or seeking spiritual balance.  We may see unusual weather conditions.  Believe half of what you hear and be skeptical of that!

On August 31, the second full moon, or the blue moon falls at 8 degrees of Pisces. It does conjunct Neptune, but in what we call a ‘wide orb,’ of 7 degrees. Full Moon/ Neptune energy can be delusional, insecure and unsettling, but it can also be magical and creative for others, depending on your nature. There will likely be a great deal of drinking and partying, and it does fall on a Friday. Some may pursue spiritual pursuits and it can bring an element of compassion. It is in good aspect to Mars, and it squares Jupiter in another ‘wide orb,’ so things may be blown out of proportion.  My advice is to enjoy it, and not take anything too seriously.  After all, TGIF, and a holiday weekend!

Intolerance by Rosalea

by Pmp Advisors on 03/16/12

"In Germany, they first came for the gypsies, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a gypsy. Then they came for the Bolsheviks, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Bolshevik. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics. I didn't speak up then because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak up." - Martin Niemoller, A Lutheran Pastor arrested by the Gestapo in 1937

My Mother had used this quote to point out to us just what intolerance can cost us when I was growing up for she was always the teacher, at home and in her business life.  She taught school in little one room school houses early in her career and she was passionate about equality for all people as she married a Native American and was subject to prejudice for most of her life.  She was disowned by her own family and met great disfavor when seeking a job because of her choice of a life partner so she remained sensitive about prejudice and how it can shape your life.

I find that intolerance for the plight of others, like the people in Syria at the present time, is ever present in the world and I feel we all must battle against the oppression and take a stand against it.  We all must add our prayers with the millions of others who have suffered at the hands of the oppressors.  We are seeing so many changes coming in the world and the fight between the "dark" and the "light" is becoming fierce.  We must all get off the fence and voice our opinions and decide what side we are truly on.

If you have not considered it before I hope everyone will consider joining a consciousness raising group such as Globel Coherence or Heartmath group and lend your prayers with others who pray for world peace and tolerance daily.

I was touched to the heart by this quote this morning and I hope it will awaken an awareness in each of us.

Getting Through the Rough Patchs by Rosalea

by Pmp Advisors on 02/29/12

Getting through the rough patches!

Today is a day that I really need to review my lessons in time management.  I used to teach classes about this and now I know as I get older that basically the truth of the matter is that there is no way to really manage time!  You just cannot do it.  You have so many hours a day and that is a fact that you cannot change.  You can however manage how effectively you use this time to your advantage. Using time well is about managing how you do things and not about managing time.

I am a detail oriented person and I keep journals and notes and to-do lists etc.  I am organized in an unorganized kind of way.  My computer desk is a disgrace and if anyone would touch a thing on my desk I would throw a fit for I would not be able to find it again.  I know exactly where to find things in my stacks of disarray! I am however a big procrastinator.  I will put off the inevitable until a crisis hits.  So today I am muddling through trying to find a rhyme or reason why I am delaying getting things done.

You have to learn the difference between being effective and being efficient I have found.  For example sending 200 emails out to clients in one hour is efficient use of your time but...getting an auto responder to do that for you is effective use of your time.

You have to know what you want and go after it!  How can you spend your time the way you want if you do not know what you want beforehand? Before embarking on any time management plan sit down and get a clear idea of exactly how you want to spend your time. This will give you something specific to work towards.

Get organized - Keep a time log to find out how you are really spending your time. Also, keep a daily time plan for each day so you know exactly what you want to achieve in each day, and work towards your longer-term goals.

Avoid time wasters - Time wasters are the arch-enemies of good time management. Worst of all, they are often so subtle that you won't even notice them. Common time wasters include television, web searching, phone interruptions and family squabbles to name a few.

I know that talking about managing time is a good thing.  Getting organized is something to strive for but when all is said and done it is best to evaluate why you feel you are running on the treadmill of life way too fast and perhaps it is time to eliminate some of the things that you just do not need to do anymore.

I am the biggest stress factor in my own life.  I take on chores that I do not need to do..I do things that others can handle because I have a problem with delegating tasks to others and I just create unnecessary work for myself.

Part of time management has to include eliminating things that you like to do but no longer need to do on a regular basis.

Getting an honest view of what you actually do all day is the most important factor.  Documenting your tasks as you move through the day will give you an idea where you can eliminate the things that you no longer need to do.

Time management is a misnomer and we should be thinking in terms of streamlining our life instead.  We should be thinking about cutting out the things that hold us back from moving forward and clearing out the clutter that stops progress.

Take one day to clear out the clutter and streamline your tasks.  Take the time to really look at what you do and what you can eliminate.  You will be amazed at how much time you have left in the day to kick back and dream away the hours.

I used to use my freezer in my home as a way to streamline. By preparing meals and freezing those ahead of time saved me endless hours of frustration when my children were young and in school.  I was so grateful to be able to throw a prepared casserole in the oven and make a salad when I got home from work and have the meal on the table without real effort.  This type of management saved my life I believe when I was working in the public sector.  Having all my kids fed and taken care of without a hassle really helped me keep my sanity.

I am going to be ready for spring when and if it ever gets here and I am working towards eliminating all this mess in front of me on my desk before then!  Good luck to everyone as you clean out the closets and reorganize your basic tasks at work and at home.

Blessings of joy, enlightenment and abundance this day to everyone.

Essential Oils submitted by Becky Long

by Pmp Advisors on 02/29/12

Learning About Essential Oils
Essential oils (e.o.) are distilled from the leaves, bark, roots and other aromatic parts of useful plants. Plants produce these fragrant oils to stimulate growth and reproduction, to attract beneficial insects & discourage harmful ones & to protect the plant from diseases. They are highly concentrated....a few drops is all you need. They should not be confused with perfume oils or scented oils, as these usually contain synthetic ingredients.

Distillation is a process of heating the plant in water, capturing the steam & separating the droplets of essential oil from the steam as it condenses. The result is a highly concentrated oil that captures the fragrance of the plant.

A citrus peel is an easy example of a plant's essential oils. When you gently bend the fresh peel back, you see a fine spray of the oil coming from that peel. This is the essential oil being released and the part that is captured during the distillation process. Prices of oils vary, based on how expensive they are to produce, for example...it takes approximately one ton of rose petals (close to 60,000 roses) to produce just one ounce of rose oil. Now we know why rose is one of the most expensive e.o.'s around!

As the ancients knew, the benefits of essential oils go far beyond their pleasing aroma. These concentrated plant essences retain the healing properties of the herbs & flowers from which they are distilled and can be used for treating both physical & psychological disorders.

When e.o.'s are inhaled or applied to the skin, the aromatic molecules enter the bloodstream & are circulated throughout the body. They are used for a variety of physical conditions, from fighting respiratory infections to relieving digestive upsets, headaches & PMS.

The effects of e.o.'s on the emotions are the result of a different physiological pathway. Chemicals in the air stimulate olfactory cells in the nose, which relay the information to the brain, where smell is perceived. The olfactory nerve pathways are tied in with the brain's limbic area, the seat of our emotions, memories, intuition & sexual response. That's why the sense of smell is the most influential trigger of memories & emotions.

There is scientific support for aromatherapy! Researchers are proving what the ancients already knew...essential oils have a powerful effect on the mind & body! There have been studies done on the effects of e.o.'s on brain wave patterns. They've shown that beta brain waves, which indicate a state of heightened awareness, are increased when stimulating oils such as black pepper, rosemary or basil are inhaled. Calming oils such as neroli, jasmine, lavender & rose produce more alpha and theta brain waves, indicating relaxation & well-being. Other studies have found that daily use of essential oils dramatically improved the mood of women at midlife & elderly patients suffering from insomnia found that the aroma of lavender helped them fall asleep quicker & sleep longer than prescriptions sedatives did.

When purchasing e.o.'s, avoid labels that state 'perfume oil', 'fragrance oil' or 'nature identical oil'. These are not pure e.o.'s. Check the label or product literature for in-depth information. Reputable companies provide the common and botanical names of the plant, the country of origin, whether wild-crafted or organic & the extraction method. You should only buy e.o.'s on dark glass bottles to protect them from the damaging effects of heat & light. Don't buy essential oils in plastic bottles because they will dissolve the plastic, likewise with rubber-tipped droppers left in the e.o.'s. Store them in a cool, dark place. The shelf life of an e.o. is about 2 yrs, 1 yr. for citrus. There are some oils that just improve with age like sandalwood, frankincense & patchouli!

ALL essential oils are therapeutic! Some companies try & use that term to justify their higher prices. Don't let that term alone be your deciding factor in your purchase. There are a couple of tests you can personally do to see if the essential oil you have bought is a true one & not diluted with other oils. The first one is to place a drop of your e.o. on a piece of paper. If a greasy spot remains after an hour or two, the product has probably been diluted with other oils. The second one is to add a drop of e.o. to water. If the oil forms a cloudy slick on the surface of the water, it's probably a synthetic oil. Shameful, but there are companies out there that do that sort of thing

Essential Oil Safety...In general, don't use e.o.'s undiluted (neat) on your skin. However, unless your skin is especially sensitive, you may discover that some e.o.'s are safe to apply directly to the skin. Do NOT ingest essential oils without the guidance of a qualified aromatherapy practitioner. Keep e.o.'s away from your eyes. There are e.o.'s that can cause photosensitivity, mostly the citrus ones...can all cause uneven skin pigmentation if used within four hours of exposure to sunlight. Keep e.o.'s away from children. When using them on children, use only the non-toxic & non-irritating ones such as lavender or chamomile...they are the gentlest & even then don't use them undiluted (neat). Use e.o.'s with caution during pregnancy. General rule is to use half of the normal adult dosage & stick with nonstimulating oils such as chamomile, frankincense, lavender, geranium, grapefruit, neroli, rose & sandalwood.

Saving Berries submitted by Annique

Very interesting......never fails, I buy strawberries and they are
moldy in a day or 2.
The key to preventing moldy berries...
Berries are delicious, but they're also kind of delicate.
Raspberries in particular seem like they can mold before you even get
them home from the market. There's nothing more tragic than paying $4
for a pint of local raspberries, only to look in the fridge the next
day and find that fuzzy mold growing on their insides.

Wash them with vinegar.
When you get your berries home, prepare a mixture of one part vinegar
(white or apple cider probably work best) and ten parts water. Dump
the berries into the mixture and swirl around. Drain, rinse if you
want (though the mixture is so diluted you can't taste the vinegar,)
and pop in the fridge. The vinegar kills any mold spores and other
bacteria that might be on the surface of the fruit, and voila!
Raspberries will last a week or more, and strawberries go almost two
weeks without getting moldy and soft. So go forth and stock up on
those pricey little gems, knowing they'll stay fresh as long as it
takes you to eat them.

You're so berry welcome!

Cancer Update from John Hopkins submitted by Annique

by Pmp Advisors on 02/22/12

Johns Hopkins Update –
This is an extremely good article. Everyone should read it.

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY ('TRY', BEING THE KEY WORD) TO ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY.

Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins:

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer
cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have
multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients
that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after
treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the
cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable
  size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a
  person's lifetime.

3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer
cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and
  forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has
nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic,
but also to environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing
diet to eat more adequately and healthy, 4-5 times/day
and by including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing
cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells
in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc, and can
cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7.. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars
and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often
reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of
chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor
  destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from
chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either
compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb
to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to
mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy.
Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other
    sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer
cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

*CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made
with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute
would be Manuka honey or molasses, but only in very small
amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in
color Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the
gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting
off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk cancer
  cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based
diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little other meat,
like chicken. Meat also contains livestock
antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all
harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole
grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into
an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked
food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live
enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to
cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance
growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building
healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most
vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw
vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at
  temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C)..

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high
caffeine Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer
fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or
filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap
water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of
digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the
intestines becomes putrefied and leads to more toxic
    buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By
refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes
to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the
body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system
    (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals,
EFAs etc.) to enable the bodies own killer cells to destroy
cancer cells.. Other supplements like vitamin E are known
to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's
normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or
    unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit.
A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior
be a survivor. Anger, un-forgiveness and bitterness put
the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to
have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy
   life.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated
environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to
get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen
therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer
    cells.

1. No plastic containers in micro.

2. No water bottles in freezer.

3. No plastic wrap in microwave..

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well.

Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Dr Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital , was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers.

This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, he recommends using glas s, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.

He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

The Story of Essiac...a Powerful Immune System Builder! by Becky Long

by Pmp Advisors on 01/26/12

The Story of Essiac...a Powerful Immune System Builder!
Rene Caisse was a nurse living in Canada for almost 60 yrs. who treated hundreds of people with an herbal remedy she called Essiac (Caisse spelled backwards). She discovered this remedy through a patient in the hospital where she worked who had been cured of cancer. The patient had used an herbal remedy given her by an Ojibway herbalist.

Rene left the hospital in 1922 at age 33, and went to Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada where she began administering Essiac to all who came to her. The majority of those she treated had letters from their physicians certifying they had terminal forms of cancer & they had been given up on by the medical profession.

Rene began gathering the plants & preparing the remedy & giving it to her patients. In some cases, the patients passed on, but many recovered fully & went to live on for 35-45 years.

So startling was the effectiveness of this simple herbal remedy, it could not be ignored and the Canadian Ministry of Health & Welfare & the Parliament became involved. Friends, former patients, and grateful families petitioned Canadian officialdom for Rene Cassie's right to administer the remedy to anyone who asked for it without the threat of interference from authorities. 55,000 signatures were collected on this petition. In 1938 Essiac came within 3 votes of being legalized by the Ontario govt. as a remedy for terminal cancer patients.

Mary McPherson, was not only a close personal friend of Rene's, but also a patient. Mary's mother and her husband were also patients. They were all treated for cancer and cured by Rene. Mary worked with Rene beginning in the 1930's and she had in her possession all these documents that had to do with Essiac over the 40 years Rene administered it. All the documents Rene had were destroyed by the Canadian Ministry of Health & Welfare at the time of her death in 1978. They burned all that information in 55 gal. drums behind her home.

Essiac is a non-toxic herbal cure for cancer that's been with us since 1922.

(This is an excerpt from an interview done with Dr. Gary Glum, who in 1986 was a well known chiropractor with offices in Los Angeles. His clients included well-known professional athletic teams & olympic teams. In 1988 Dr. Glum published "Calling of an Angel", the story of Rene Cassie and Essiac. He has since closed his practice and now devotes his time to investigative writing.)

After the interview, it was learned that the Canadian govt. had banned sheep sorrel (one of the main ingredients) for sale & distribution. Shortly after that they also banned St. John's Wort.

Dr. Glum could not find any publishing company to publish his book, so he published it himself. As soon as he did, the IRS came in and slapped about a half million dollars in tax liens against him and said "You know this has got nothing to do with taxes. It's all about cancer." They actually started hauling the pallets of books out of his medical practice and they were confiscated by the Canadian govt. at customs. He has never gotten any of those books back. The only ones he has left are hidden in storage facilities.

Isn't it amazing what governments will do to stop a true cure for cancer while it becomes one of the largest money makers in the nation next to oil?

Essiac normalizes the thyroid, heal stomach ulcers (which she felt was a precursor to cancer), it regulates the pancreas (so one with diabetes mellitus can become insulin-free), gives all cancer & AIDS patients the enzymes that those diseases have destroyed. Essiac elevates the enzyme system, elevates the hormone system which elevates the immune system so the body can cure itself.

ESSIAC INGREDIENTS:

Burdock Root:

The Planet of Action Steps Back!

Mars retrogrades at 23 degrees of Virgo January 24. Mars retrogrades every 18 months, and the last time this phenomenon occurred was October 17-December 20, 2009, when the planet of action retrograded in the sign Leo. Mars remains retrograde through April 14, and it will remain in the sign Virgo until early July. Mars is stationary retrograde through January 27. It is generally at this point you will notice a decline in energy or issues start to become more complex. Mars goes stationary direct April 14-21, and you may notice an effect if it is transiting personal planets in your natal chart. It will remain in the shadow period until June 20, when it reaches the degree at which it retrograded.

What Does This Mean?

When Mars retrogrades (every two years) it is time to take a step back. We may feel as though we are paddling upstream. Sometimes retrospection can be quite positive. Action may become slower or more subtle rather than straightforward, especially if you have mutable planets in your chart (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces, or if your Mars is mutable). Mars rules physical energy, sex, male energy-men, physical force and your desire to achieve. It describes the male relationships in your life, and sometimes these relationships may stall at this time. Retrograde Mars can give rise to introspection, a slowdown in work projects, accidents, rage, war, or other types of violence if misdirected. Retrograde Mars is a time to rethink, especially where work projects and health is concerned. Starting large projects or new relationships with men on a retrograde Mars may go through a period of change or end when Mars goes direct in April.

Sometimes retrograde planets often seem to coincide with fated events, that is events and situations that seem to be out of one's personal control. Sometimes this represents an outcome of an inevitable situation, other times the event seems to be something unexpected.

Mars in Virgo

Mars retrogrades in Virgo, the natural ruler of the sixth house of work and health. Virgo is known as the sign of the perfectionist, and during this period it is important not to become too critical of others or ourselves. Constructive criticism can sometimes bring positive change but as Mars retrogrades, the criticism may not be so constructive or we may be the victim of criticism. Knowledge is power, and being aware of this tendency can go a long way toward avoiding animosity. Tolerance is called for on all fronts.

Issues may develop with work situations that have to be addressed, and dissatisfaction may become more acute at this time. Plans may be changed, projects altered, and some may leave jobs during this period by choice or forced circumstances. Co-workers and supervisors may become overly critical or concerned with minutia, and problems from the past may come back now as major concerns at this time. If you are looking for a job and in a position to postpone changing positions, that might be advisable, as when Mars goes direct in the spring, changes you were not aware of could occur at that time.

As Mars rules the house of health this can be a positive time to review health concerns or plans. Fitness programs and diets may be implemented or altered, and with some individuals this will be a time of discovering heath issues that may have been previously hidden. (This alone will not cause a health problem - other factors must be present in your chart to signify a major health problem.) As Mars rules steel and cutting, elective surgeries should be postponed at this time if possible.

Events on the World Stage

Mars rules the military, police, surgeons, bank auditors. As Mars retrogrades through Virgo we will see unrest, possible military skirmishes and growing dissatisfaction that will reach more acute stages. As Mars retrogrades it will conjunct Neptune in the US chart January 28-February 6. We will likely see unrest among demonstrators and groups, dissatisfaction among the workplace and unemployed workers, and the possibility of military threats skirmishes, and saber rattling at this time. We are at risk of violence in the US, and bad decisions based on lies and mistruths, especially abroad. This transit relates to water and situations around water, drugs and chemicals. There will be discord with those abroad. Those promoting fundamentalist religions may be in the forefront.

This period will be a time of unparalleled violence is Syria as retrograde Mars conjuncts the natal Sun of that country, then squares Jupiter. We will hear of causalities and a call for change of government at this time.

During the period of Mars retrograde criticism will become more vocal about unemployment, the state of jobs/employment in America, and we will hear news that relates to medicine, pharmaceutical companies, health situations and hospitals.

Mars in Virgo relates to bank auditors, and we may hear news of audits and banking practices that come to the forefront. This could involve big banks, and it may also relate to financial practices at home and abroad that come under scrutiny.

On April 8, Mars retrogrades to 3 degrees opposing Neptune in Pisces at 2 degrees. Mars turns direct at 3 degrees on April 14, making the opposition prominent, and the planets do not separate until April 22. This opposition is difficult at best, tiring, and overall negative. Mars relates to the ego, and Neptune is ego-less, and therein lies the conflict. The best use of this energy is found in serving others and directing the energies toward spiritual practices. We will hear news of situations that are unclear in scope, possible violence and situations relating to water, drugs and chemicals. Mars begins to move forward again April 22, and things will get back to normal June 2, when Mars reaches 23 degrees

The Amazing Cucumber by Becky Long

The Amazing Cucumber!

Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need daily, one cucumber contains B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, Folic Acid, Vit. C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium & Zinc.

If you are feeling tired in the afternoon, put down the soda and pick up a cucumber. They are a good source of B vitamins and carbs that provide a quick pick-me-up that can last for hours.

Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up? Rub a cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.

Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee.

Looking for a fast way to remove cellulite before going to the pool? Rub a slice of cucumber along your problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemicals in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite. Works great on wrinkles and them pesky bags under the eyes too!

Want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache? Eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed and headache free. Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and headache.

Looking to fight off the snaking binge? Cucumbers have been used for centuries and often used by European trappers, traders and explorers for quick meals to thwart off starvation.

Now, my personal favorite: peel & slice a cuke, slice an onion & pour oil & vinegar dressing over it, let it sit for a few hours & chomp!!! So many good things in there for ya!!!

Ethics and Responsibilities by Rosalea

by Pmp Advisors on 12/02/11

I have been pondering the words "responsibility" and "ethics" for a week now and trying to define in my mind how they apply in my life.  I have always been referred to as the "irresponsible one" by family members because I did not follow the cookie cutter mold that my sisters planned in their lives.  I always sought jobs that were a challenge, always was willing to plow new ground etc but I also was the one to be ever conscious of my obligations to others.  So in my frame of reference having my sister's call me irresponsible used to hurt me terribly when I was young.  I simply did not agree with them.  From their perception however I really must have looked like a Flake!

They were taught their chief job was to find a man who would support them and who would be a good provider and help them raise kids.  In the beginning I was like that too but...with one difference.  I always wanted to be in charge of my own life and not turn the decisions over to someone else.

So responsibility to me meant an entirely different thing from my own perceptions. I really have been examining how the words "responsibility and ethics" apply to me now in this phase of my life. I have had many clients lately trying to find balance in their lives also and I wanted to open this topic to see what your views might be about ethics and responsibility.

It is my perceptions that we humans have two problems concerning responsibility:

1. We don't know who we are.

2. We don't know what we want.

We like to perceive ourselves (and the world) as separate individuals. We nonchalantly dismiss the opposite of this view, namely that we are unified individuals.

We divide the world into little pieces and instead of going with the flow and considering ourselves to be part of this grand flow we instead lean towards ownership instead.  My responsibility...your responsibility...not mine etc.

We always cling to the idea of individuality instead of the community of souls.

Is this right brain thinking...Is this left brain logic and so forth?  We look to the outside for answers and ignore the messages within.  We heal the body and ignore the spirit.

Responsibility becomes a myth for many.  We believe in right and wrong but we expect others with a greater responsibility to clean up our messes.  Well that does not happen.  It comes back full circle to ourselves.

The common dictionary definition for the word responsibility tells us that the word is defines as:

The moral and forward-looking sense of responsibility is the sense in which one is responsible for achieving (or maintaining) a good result in some matter. The idea is that one is entrusted with achieving or maintaining this outcome, and expected to both have relevant knowledge and skills, and to make a conscientious effort.

However, despite one's best efforts, the result may not be achieved. For example, patients of responsible physicians may die, and the work of a responsible engineer may result in an accident because the accident was not foreseeable, it was not possible to compensate for the factors causing the accident, or because others were unwilling to heed the engineer's warnings.

The moral and backward-looking sense of responsibility is that in which a person or group deserves ethical evaluation for some act or outcome, that it deserves moral praise for a good outcome or blame for a bad one.
The moral sense of responsibility should not be confused with the causal sense of responsibility for some existing or past state of affairs.

For example, when we say that "the storm was responsible for three deaths and heavy property damage," meaning that it caused these outcomes, we do not mean to attribute moral responsibility to the storm. Storms do not have moral responsibilities, and are neither responsible nor irresponsible in the moral sense.
However, when a moral agent is causally responsible for some outcome that is some reason to think that the agent is morally responsible for it.

Causal responsibility is not conclusive evidence of moral responsibility. If one's actions case a terrible outcome only because of bad moral luck, in the form of a freak accident, then one is not morally responsible for the outcome.

Forward-looking responsibilities are often specified in terms of the outcome to be achieved rather than the acts to be performed. It takes judgment to figure out what acts will achieve a given outcome. For this reason you will hear the phrase "the age of responsibility" or "the age of discretion" used to mean an age at which a person is sufficiently mature to exercise such judgment.

I have been listening to the dialogue of politicians lately and it seems that they are completely in the dark about how complex the issues of responsibility for actions you perform as an individual really are.

When the results of their actions are positive then they crow and strut and tell everyone "how responsible they have been for acting" however when the outcome is not favorable they rattle their sabers’ and point to other who obviously did not live up to their responsibility.

It is all a word game for the politicians but for us as a nation it is important to remember that we all are individual pieces of the whole.  That we are holographic images of the divine.  We have to be responsible in a greater sense.  We are our "brother's keeper" no matter how much we want to deny it.

With responsibility we must consider the word Ethics also.  For ethics is the study of morals.  It is also the name for a branch of philosophy concerned with the nature of morals and moral evaluation, e.g., what is right and wrong, virtuous or vicious, and beneficial or harmful to you or others.

Secondly the term ethics or morality is used to mean the standards for ethical or moral behavior of a particular group.

Having a good 'ethical background" usually means that one has been raised to think logically and is willing to abide by the laws of the land as well as nature.

However ethics is a word like responsibility and it has many different meanings to people.  It has to do with how we perceive and accept morality.  What is morally correct for one religion for example is totally not acceptable in another.  That is the type of thinking that really bothers me.  For what is truth?  Who's the ultimate one who decides what is ethical, what is truth and who is responsible?  It must lie within each of us because we live by our own code usually and by how advanced we are spiritually.  I am much more tolerant of others rights now in this phase of my life but when I was young I was all about self righteousness!  I thought I had all the answer but in fact I had not even thought of the correct questions to ask at the time.

I hope you will give me your input about the words "responsibility and ethics" for I am really wondering if they need to be redefined as we prepare for a major shift in our consciousness.

Blessings of joy and enlightenment to you this day.
